Memphis came up just short on Sunday (2/1) falling 78–76 to Tulane in a tough, back-and-forth game that went down to the final possessions. The Tigers had chances late but couldn’t get the last shot to fall.
Tulane was led by Rowan Brumbaugh, who had a big day with 27 points and consistently hurt Memphis from the line. The Green Wave shot well overall, hitting about 50 percent from the field and knocking down timely three-pointers when they needed them most.
For Memphis, Dug McDaniel finished with 13 points, four assists, and four steals, providing energy on both ends. Aaron Bradshaw also made an impact on the boards, helping the Tigers win the rebounding battle 40–25.
Still, Memphis struggled from deep and left points at the free-throw line, which proved costly in such a close game. In the end, Tulane’s late-game execution made the difference as Brumbaugh sunk the Tigers making the final driving bucket to put Tulane up 78-76.
