Quinerly Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll
IRVING, Texas – University of Memphis point guard Jahvon Quinerly has been named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday afternoon. It is the second honor for Quinerly and the sixth for the Tigers as a team.
The Hackensack, New Jersey product came through clutch last week for the Tigers, drilling two game-winning threes at Tulsa and against SMU.
He connected on a three-pointer with 3.2 seconds left to complete a comeback for Memphis as it defeated SMU 62-59 on Sunday. He buried the game-winner with 4.0 seconds to play in Thursday’s 78-75 victory at Tulsa.
Quinerly averaged 11.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds, while connecting on 6-18 from the floor (33.3), 5-of-12 from deep (41.7) and 5-of-6 at the stripe (83.3).
His heroics has Memphis riding an 8-game winning streak, tied for the 9th-longest streak in the country.
