Memphis Tigers now highest Group of 5 team in both polls

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis football team went up in both polls moving up to No. 23 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 22 in the Associated Press, it was announced Sunday afternoon (11/2).

Memphis (8-1, 4-1 American) is coming off a dominating 38-14 win over Rice Friday night in Houston where the Tigers racked up 355 yards of offense while Frank Peasant punched in three touchdowns against the Owls.

Memphis is the highest ranked Group of Five team in both polls.

The Tigers are back inside Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium this weekend when they host the Green Wave of Tulane. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. with coverage available on ESPN.
