Full interview: Rip Scherer on the 25th Anniversary of Memphis Football's win over #6 Tennessee. "I have (part of) the goal post and a number of momentos."

Former Memphis Head Football Coach Rip Scherer joined the Jason & John Show on Tuesday (11/9/21) to discuss the 25th Anniversary of the Memphis Tigers beating #6 Tennessee and future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning at the Liberty Bowl in 1996.

Scherer said he looks back fondly on that victory, but wished the team (Memphis) could have spring-boarded off of that win with more momentum at that time.

Scherer, who recently retired from football at the age of 69 after serving as a tight end's coach for the Los Angeles Chargers, said he even has (part) of the goal post from that Tennessee win and the column that Geoff Calkins wrote for the Commercial Appeal at his home.
