Kaelen Culpepper is one of the most accomplished baseball players to come out of St. Benedict at Auburndale (SBA) here in Memphis. A standout infielder for the Eagles, Culpepper earned All-State honors before continuing his career at Kansas State, where he developed into one of the nation's top collegiate shortstops and a first-round pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 2024 MLB Draft. Known for his combination of power, athleticism, and defensive versatility.
J&J discussed Culpepper and the slew of pros the City of Memphis has produced:
  • Culpepper was just called up to the Minnesota Twins from Triple-A St. Paul as the Twins looked to bolster their infield offense.
  • He played college baseball at Kansas State Wildcats, where he became one of the top shortstop prospects in the country and was a first-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.
  • He attended Saint Benedict at Auburndale High School (often abbreviated SBA) in the Memphis area before going to Kansas State.

Culpepper is regarded as one of the Twins' top prospects. Before his promotion, he was hitting .271 with 14 home runs, 46 RBIs, 17 stolen bases, and an .845 OPS for Triple-A St. Paul this season.
