Tom Brady won’t return to his familiar Foxboro stomping grounds until next week, but apparently, the war of words has already begun with Brady’s longtime trainer Alex Guerrero throwing shade at coach Bill Belichick for mistreating his former quarterback. “I think his emotions or feelings never evolved with age,” shared Guerrero, spilling the tea to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald. “As Tom got into his late 30s or early 40s, I think Bill was still trying to treat him like that 20-year-old kid that he drafted. And all the players, I think, realized Tom was different.”
Guerrero, of course, has his own history with Belichick, who restricted his access to players in 2017 after recommending treatments and medical advice that contradicted team doctors. Brady’s father, Tom Sr., has also been critical of Belichick, relaying to Tom E. Curran and Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston that the future Hall-of-Famer no longer felt wanted in New England, prompting him to leave as a free agent in 2020.
