Every year, the football (and fantasy football) community tries its best to remind itself of the same thing: don't put too much stock into the preseason. Don't put too much stock into the preseason. Don't put too much stock into the preseason.
Then, this happens, and it seems like a legitimate reason to get excited.
Yes, let's credit Jameis Winston with an incredible throw. But, come on. This is an insane grab by Callaway. In fact, it's so insane that he couldn't possibly top it later in the same game with an even more tremendous display of hand-eye coordination, athleticism and pure football skill... right?!
Holy moly.
And that play isn't the only thing that's building his hype this preseason — in fact, it's a nice consummation of a whole lot of buzz and production that we've seen from the second-year undrafted wideout. With injuries keeping Michael Thomas already sidelined for what could be a handful of weeks in the regular season, Callaway will be needed, and he's looking to step up in a big way.
The New Orleans Saints community is obviously pleased, but there might be another Twitter community that's going even crazier over Callaway's performance on Monday night: the fantasy football community. Didn't have him on your big board? You sure as heck do now.
We'll see what else the stud wideout has in store before the night is over.
