It seemed too good to be true. In the end, it was.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, perhaps the most visible and vocal critic of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, took to Twitter Friday night to announce that the NFL had retracted its invitation to watch a Monday Night Football game at Goodell's house during the 2020 season. The opportunity was initially earned by Portnoy after he won the bid on the auction item, committing $250,000 for charity.
"We knew it was going to happen," Portnoy said in his video message. "You have cowards. You have mega-cowards. And you have Roger Goodell."
