ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals have reportedly acquired pitcher J.A. Happ from the Minnesota Twins in a trade that sends pitcher John Gant and a Cardinals minor leaguer to Minnesota.
The Cardinals say cash considers from the Twins were also part of the deal.
Happ, 38, is 5-6 with a 6.77 ERA in 19 games this season. He is a veteran of 15 big league seasons since debuting with the Phillies in 2007 and winning the 2009 World Series there. Happ has compiled a career mark of 128-98 with a 4.13 ERA in 343 career games (317 starts), including a career-high 20 wins in 2016 with Toronto.

The Twins are in St. Louis this weekend for a three-game series at Busch Stadium that begins Friday night. The Twins have also traded away another starting pitcher in José Berríos to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Gant, 28, is 4-6 with a 3.42 ERA this season. He made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2016 after coming to St. Louis in a trade with the Atlanta Braves for Jamie Garcia.
St. Louis also sends minor league pitcher Evan Sisk, 24, to the Twins. This year in time at both High-A and Double-A he is 2-0 with a 3.31 ERA in 32.2 innings of relief. He was selected in the 16th round of the 2018 draft by St. Louis.
