ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The three players pictured above appear to be the St. Louis Cardinals' best hopes to have at least one starter in the 2021 MLB All-Star Game. Catcher Yadier Molina, third baseman Nolan Arenado and outfielder Tyler O'Neill are all within striking distance, with just a few more days left for fans to vote.

The starting position players for the National and American Leagues will be determined by two rounds of online fan voting. The first round, which will determine three finalists for each position ends on Thursday. You can vote, here.

MLB released the current standings on Monday. Molina and Arenado, both currently in second place, may comfortably advance to the second round as one of the top three vote-getters at their respective position. But O'Neill is going to need some help from Cardinals fans.

The 25-year-old Gold Glove winner is about 8,000 votes behind the ninth and final outfield finalist spot. Among all NL outfielders this year, his 15 home runs are second and his .947 OPS is fourth.

Major League Baseball's 91st Midsummer Classic will be played in Colorado on July 13.

The pitchers and reserves for both teams will be determined through a combination of "Player Ballot" choices and selections made by the Commissioner’s Office.
