Atlanta Braves players and coaches are reporting to Truist Park today as they prepare for the upcoming 60-game season.
How are the Braves suited to deal with the shortened season?
Caray said one of the factors is that the Braves are going to have a healthy rotation to start.
"The Braves are going to have Cole Hamels and Felix Hernandez ready at the very get go...they already restructured their bullpen and added to it with Will Smith and all the guys that were so terrific last year. That's a very deep, very strong, very versatile and balanced bullpen that's going to be used a lot because starters aren't going to pitch more than three or four innings their first time or two through the rotation."
The Braves broadcaster also believes the offense will be fine. They don't have to play Marcel Ozuna in the outfield and can, instead, use him as the designated hitter. It allows them to play both Johan Camargo and Austin Riley, both of whom had fantastic springs.
"The Braves are positioned in a great spot. They're deep, they're talented, they're good. They've won the division the last couple of years, and they know what that involves."
