The Atlanta Falcons have practiced on eight of the last 10 days and will now head to Canton for the Hall of Fame Game Thursday against the Denver Broncos.
"The position groups I'll be looking for is returner, the running back battle, and the rookies on the offensive line, especially Kaleb McGary," said the Falcons reporter.
At each position group there are some real battles going on and only five chances this season to show the staff what they can do. Kelsey explains how some of that can only be displayed in-game.
"Returner is a huge battle going on between Marcus Green, the rookie draft pick, Kenjon Barner, the veteran, and Olamide [Zaccheaus], the free agent wide receiver out of Virginia," says Conway. "They've been the three back there in practice every day and that spot is far from solidified. It will come down to if those guys make a roster because of what they can do on special teams and you can really only gauge that through game reps."
Conway also discussed the backup running back spot.
"Dan Quinn said it the other day," offered Conway. "It's the deepest this positon group has been in a really long time with Ollison, Barner, Brian Hill, and Ito Smith."
Kelsey Conway finished by looking at the growth of Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary.
