Bill Romanowski: The Saints should be here

Former NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski joined Dukes and Bell on Radio Row at Super Bowl 53. Romanowski on the non-pass interference call in New Orleans, “As much as I appreciate him, and what he was dealing with when he first came in, but come on just step in and say the guys messed it up, that was wrong and the New Orleans Saints should be here, and it’s a travesty with all the cameras that something like that can happen..”

Romanowski on the way playoff games are reffed, “I love the way games are called in the Playoffs and the Super bowl, they don’t call the ticky tack stuff. They don’t do call them like that in the regular season, and it drives me crazy.”

Romanowski continued, “It was Sunday, and I will say this it was during the week in practice, hey I wasn’t going to grab your throat and try to choke you but I had a teammate named Marcus Williams and I need to set this story up. My first game in the preseason I had a guy shove me in the back after a play, and I ran back to the huddle, watching it the next day in film session Ronnie Lott stood up, came over to me with an intensity that would scare anybody  and said Romo if I ever see that happen again and you don’t do something about it I will kick your ass, this is a game about respect. So in practice my last year in Oakland Marcus Williams pushed me in the back, I turned and said I know you didn’t just do that he said I did what are you going to do about it, I grabbed his facemask and he swung at me and so I went to swing back and his helmet came off and shattered his orbital bone, I’m not proud of that but that’s the intensity I played with.”
