Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn told ESPN that "the plan right now" is to keep defensive end Vic Beasley.
From last night: Dan Quinn appears willing to work with Vic Beasley Jr., but Beasley has to earn it. "I'm very excited about where I think he can go to, and we've had good conversations about the impact that he can make.'' https://t.co/hKb6B1gJiX

Rick Kamla of the Midday Show said based on Coach Quinn's comments, that this is a make-or-break year for Beasley.
"If Vic Beasley has another five-sack season, he will not be a Falcon in 2019. We've seen a lot of players in contract years have big years, and that's the hope there."
John Michaels believes the Falcons knew they were going to keep Beasley around this season regardless but thinks this is a misstep. If the Falcons are bringing him back, John hopes it's not at the $12.8 million price tag.
"I want Vic back; I want him back at our price," John said.
However, he believes the Falcons may bring Beasley back at the option price tag based on one comment Coach Quinn told ESPN.
"One hundred percent," Quinn said of Beasley having to earn an extension. "He's knows that. We know that. ... If he's the competitor we think he is, then those are the moments you live for. I'm excited to see what he can be this year."
"I got to find something that makes it more cap friendly this year," Michaels said. "Because $12 million is a big chunk of change for a guy that we wish can be as good as he was two years ago."
Beasley recorded a league-best 15.5 sacks just two seasons ago (2016) but managed only five sacks last season with the Falcons. And it's that lack of consistency that doesn't sit well with Rick.
"It is uncool, and to me unacceptable, that we're having a consistency conversation with Vic Beasley," Rick said. "To the point where his job is on the line, his career is on the line and he gets called out by his head coach for lacking consistency, which should be a given."
Even if Beasley has 12.5 sacks next season, could he maintain that performance the following year?
