Despite the record, there seems to be an excitement for the Hawks future. Rookie point guard Trae Young and second-year forward John Collins have given fans hope after exceeding expectations.

Still in the rebuilding phase, could the Hawks win 50 games next season?

"I'll say no as far as 50 (wins)," McFadden said. "But based on how the roster is constructed now, they will be a playoff-caliber team."

There were only three teams in the Eastern Conference to have over 50 wins this season: Milwaukee Bucks (60-22), Toronto Raptors (58-24) and Philadelphia 76ers (51-31).

"If I'm Vegas, I put the Hawks over/under win total next year at 45," Tribble said.
