The Voice of the Atlanta Hawks Steve Holman joined John Fricke and Hugh Douglas Thursday to recap the season.

Holman on the Hawks 2018-2019 season: “This was one of my favorite years.”

Holman on his favorite moments this year: “I had a number of them but they all revolve around Trae Young. He has that ‘it’ factor and the ability to close in the fourth quarter.”

Holman on Trae Young: “We were in Chicago a few weeks back and there were people in the crowd with Trae Young jerseys. They weren’t Hawks fans but the kids were Trae Young fans, which hasn’t happened since Dominque (Wilkins).”

Holman then discussed the picks the Hawks will have in the upcoming draft.

Holman on what kind of player he wants to see come here: “You could use a couple of role players, some gritty players. Every team that is a great team has always had good role players. Some teams make the mistake of trying to continue to draft star players and not getting some role players along the way.”

Holman went on to talk about how the Hawks are ahead of schedule and if the team will go after a marquee free agent this summer.

Holman on Tony Ressler: “He is the best owner we have had since I have been here.”

Holman then previewed the NBA playoffs.
