Where does Fromm rank all-time among UGA QBs?

Jake Fromm comes in to what is likely his final season at the helm of the Georgia Bulldogs offense, and the question arose today if he's actually underrated in a discussion of best all-time UGA Quarterbacks.

Fromm isn't one of the top QBs in the Heisman odds, and while some have him as the possible top QB taken in the NFL draft, others have three or even four other QBs going ahead of him.

"When you talk about greatest ever at anything, I need some qualifiers, says Hugh Douglas. "What are we looking at, what criteria? How many championships won? How many yards he threw for? How many touchdowns? Things of that nature. He basically got the job because somebody else got hurt.

"When he came in he was known as a game manager and last year we saw him progress out of that. This year the story remains to be written, but as far as potentially being the greatest QB in the history of the Georgia Bulldogs. I need to know what the criteria is for crowning him that."

"Well it can't just be championships," says Fricke as he explains that Buck Belue can't possibly be the best UGA QB just because of the title. "You have Murray, Tarkenton, Greene, Stafford. These are the guys I think about. With Fromm, the bar has been raised here. Are you the guy that takes us to that title? Because then you would be exalted in history because they're looking for the guy to do that."

"That's the standard everybody is held to at that position, how many championships," proclaims Hugh. "When you talk about what he's done so far in his career, it's fair to say that has to be the icing on his cake.

"Comparable numbers are pretty decent, but you've been too close to two of them, you've been there. That's his measuring stick I would say."
