What’s the best fit for what the Atlanta Falcons do? The guys on Dukes & Bell talked about the Falcons 2016 draft and how they drafted players that year that fit what they do, and wondered if the team has gotten away from that in recent drafts.
Carl asked have the Falcons lost their way when it comes to drafting for need instead of fit?
“If you want to be what you were, if you still go by the mantra you want to be fast and physical, then you go draft speed,” Dukes said. “You go get Isaiah Simmons. You go get speed that can be a difference-maker, a sideline-to-sideline guy and say that’s what we’re going to be. But I think we’ve lost our way a little bit with that in perspective to the draft with just filling needs.”
