CBS sportswriter Dennis Dodd joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming college football season and if the entire season could be in jeopardy.
Could the 2020 college football season really be in doubt?
“We’re five months and three days out from kickoff and it’s very hard to imagine 100.000 people getting into a stadium to watch 22 guys for 150 plays for three hours or four hours,” Dodd said. “Especially when we don’t have our arms around this thing. It’s yet to peak.
"And the thing I thought of today, let’s say we start on time in August. What you’re saying is you are going forward without anybody contracting the virus. Because if one player gets it he will be quarantined for 10 to 14 days. Everybody he has come in contact with will be quarantined for 10 to 14 days, and then you can’t field a football team. So to me this thing has to be completely eradicated, at least for the time being, before you even start thinking about putting a team out there.”
