Former Atlanta Braves pitcher and current FOX Sports MLB Analyst Paul Byrd joined Hugh Douglas and John Fricke on Friday morning and discussed Julio Teheran's move to pitch solely out of the stretch and why it can help the pitcher.

"Stephen Strasburg did it a few years ago, pitch solely out of the stretch," said Byrd. "When you come set, you can hold the ball longer, and hitters hate that. They want to time you, so they want to see consistency."

Byrd also gets into why Josh Tomlin helps the young Braves pitchers and the teams handling of them.

"If those guys are not ready for whatever reason, you just don't want to rush them, because if you do rush them and they get crushed, that can affect them for a couple of years," said Byrd. "You want your young pitchers to have success, you want to bring them along when they're healthy, you want to bring them along properly."

Paul also explains what has him so excited about the Braves' young group of arms.

"I think you have some guys that, once healthy, can be the next John Smoltz," said Byrd. "I've never seen a farm system that has this many prospects that have this high of a ceiling."
