Sarah Spencer, Atlanta Hawks beat writer for the AJC, joined Jon to talk about all the Atlanta Hawks. There are many trade rumors surrounding the Hawks right now. Names like Clint Capela and Andre Drummond have been in the mix for trade possibilities for the Atlanta Hawks. Sarah says that while people have been talking about John Collins, the Hawks are not trying to trade him. She said, "just because they get a question about John Collins, doesn't mean they're looking to do anything with him." She goes on to say the Hawks are not looking to move anyone from their young core; which consist of Young, Collins, Heurter, Hunter, and Reddish.
Sarah did mention that the Hawks are looking to move some expiring contracts. Names like Evan Turner comes to mind when looking to trade someone with an expiring contract. Sarah says that the trades that may come may involve more than one team. Jon thinks that Clint Capela fits what this Hawks team needs the most, a rim protector. Sarah, on the other hand, is not so sure that the style of play of Collins and Capela will mesh all that well. While unsure, she did say we wouldn’t know until they are possibly on the floor together.
