Georgia and Florida State announced Thursday that they are canceling their previously scheduled home-and-home series for 2027 and 2028, though the two programs are reportedly exploring the possibility of replacing it with a neutral-site matchup. While some fans may point to the SEC’s move toward a nine-game conference schedule or the evolving College Football Playoff format as potential reasons for the change, Andy and Randy believe another factor could be driving the decision: revenue. A marquee neutral-site game could generate significantly more money and media exposure, similar to the type of high-profile event packages recently created for Duke basketball through streaming partners like Amazon Prime Video.
