The Atlanta Braves finally got the returns of All-Stars Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr. however the much-anticipated spark expected to help the team turn their season around has seemingly come and gone as they dropped to 27-31 on the season and fourth in the National League East standings, nine and a half games back of the first place New York Mets following their series loss to the Red Sox over the weekend.
“This just might be our team. This just might be our lot in life,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said on Monday as he and Mike Bell shared their thoughts on Atlanta, who reached .500 for the first time back in mid-May after their 0-7 start. However, since reaching 21-21, the Braves have gone 6-10 and 3-8 with Strider and Acuna Jr. back.
“It’s brutal, this is the reality,” Bell said as he shared his thoughts on why he believes the Braves look “listless” and he and Dukes weighed in on how the Braves could change the outlook of their season with 104 games remaining. “Do have to make a call, do you have to get another guy in here, another set of eyes on the problem?” Bell asked as he and Dukes discussed whether a new hitting coach or even a new manager could be the solution for the Braves’ woes.
