The Atlanta Braves are four days away from their 2026 season getting underway and unfortunately, they announced pitcher, Spencer Strider, will start the season on the injured list as he deals with a strained oblique. “Most teams are limping to the finish line, the Braves are limping to the start line,” 92-9 The Game’s Abe Gordon said as he and Mike Bell reacted to the reports of Strider’s injury.
“It’s just been a really rough offseason,” Gordon continued as he expressed frustration of the Braves suffering another injury to their pitching staff as Strider joins, Spencer Schwellenbach, Hurston Waldrep, Joey Wentz and AJ Smith-Shawver on the IL. “You’ve been nailing the hammer the whole time, pitching, pitching, pitching,” Gordon said of Bell’s sentiment of the Braves needing to have a better stable of starting pitchers.
“You have to add more pitching. They continually did not do that and now injury after injury and now it’s almost to close to the season to really have an impact,” Gordon said of believing Bell has been correct in believing Atlanta should have been more intent on bolstering their pitching staff as they now deal with significant injuries to their starting rotation to start the season.Atlanta Braves sidelining Spencer Strider to start 2026 season
