The Braves blew a 6-4 lead and fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 10 innings on Tuesday night and with the Mets blowing out the Nationals, the Braves are now 10.5 games back in the NL East and that's a real problem.
The Braves haven't been that far back since the end of the 2017 season when they finished 72-90 and 25 games behind the NL East Champion Washington Nationals, and 92.9 The Game Braves Reporter Grant McCauley says the standings are a real concern at this point.
"If you're the Braves and you wake up looking at the standings and you find yourself further back than you've been in the last five seasons, I think it's time to start taking a long look at what's not going right for this club," says McCauley. "What can you do to try to turn things around and fix it, they've got to figure out a way to get things going and get that winning streak and win three in a row."
The Braves not only have a massive hill to climb if they want to win the NL East, but even an NL Wild Card spot could be difficult with four teams well ahead fo them in the Wild Card chase (along with 3 division leaders).
