C-Mac heard over and over again about how MLB teams, especially the Yankees, needed to operate like the mighty Braves do, locking up young stars to team-friendly deals to establish a championship core.
After two straight shocking NLDS exits, C-Mac wonders if that is still the mandate.
“They were the team everybody strives to be,” C-Mac said. “Look at how this organization puts the team together…they do everything right, those Braves. Look at how good they are! Welcome to the crapshoot.
“They’re soft…this Braves team was soft from the jump, man. It’s unbelievable.”
Atlanta won a thriller in game two to even the series, but after Orlando Arcia went viral for his clubhouse trolling of Bryce Harper, the Braves never recovered, some players even pointing fingers at the media for revealing Arcia’s comments, despite the fact that they were said in the clubhouse while it was open to reporters. C-Mac said it was all evidence that this Braves core is “soft,” and doesn’t deserve to lean on the excuse of a long layoff during the Wild Card Series.
“Stop making excuses for these good teams that lose...the Braves had every opportunity to win this series,” C-Mac said. “There’s no reason they can’t beat Philadelphia. When did we start making excuses, because of the new format? All of a sudden, the Braves deserve excuses?
“The Braves were soft in this series, man. It’s that simple…honestly, you could tell, the minute their reaction to the Bryce Harper stuff, you could tell they were beat and they were afraid.”
