Atlanta Braves beat writer Dave O’Brien joined Dukes & Bell Thursday to talk about the team sending down Kyle Wright, Why has the young pitching struggled, and will we see Ian Anderson before the season is over?
O’Brien talked about whether Ian Anderson is ready for the big leagues.
“He and Tucker Davidson both are probably ready, and I think you’re going to see one of them probably soon, probably Ian Anderson,” O’Brien said. “They just had the Super-Two date, which is the date that you don’t want guys up before that because then they get an extra year of arbitration. So that’s why you’re seeing a lot of big prospects today and this week.”
“There’s really nothing holding them back now, they’re not totally convinced that they’re both ready, they don’t expect either of them to come up here and be Mike Soroka right off the bat. If they did they would already be here, that should be a tell tell sign.”
