Falcons playing in Germany: Burden or Privilege?

The NFL is playing a record seven games overseas in 2025, one of which features the Atlanta Falcons traveling to Germany to face the Indianapolis Colts in November. While traveling abroad and bringing the NFL to the word wide audience does seem appealing on the surface, is it really a detriment to the NFL teams that are selected?

In years past, the NFL would grant teams traveling overseas their bye week in the week immediately following their overseas trip, but with so many games now overseas, this is no longer the case. Couple that with the burdens of an NFL team making the trip: flying, facilities, safety, etc… Is it even beneficial for teams to accept this assignment?
