After getting over the .500 mark the Atlanta Braves are back under .500 after losing six of their last eight games, but despite Atlanta’s recent struggles our very own Braves insider, reporter, and Host of From The Diamond Grant McAuley joined The Morning Shift earlier today and explained why he believes the Braves’ best days are still ahead of them.
“June has always been a good month for them historically. I know last year might’ve kind of been the outlier of that because it seemed like June was maybe when the ship started to take on some water, but you look at where it was in ‘22 and ‘23 the Braves kind of felt like there were in a similar position where every time they’d win a few games they’d suffer a couple of series losses or slip on a banana peel and just undo everything that they were doing, and then the month of June would come around.” McAuley said
Grant also noted that having Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider back now should lead to a successful month of June
“If you get guys like Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider back and you have the talent and you’re able to stay healthy I gotta believe this team’s best days are ahead of it and we’re gonna see as the weather heats up if the Braves can finally start to heat up.” Grant said
The Braves were 21-6 in June in 2022, and 21-4 in June of 2023, so to Grant’s point if the 2025 Braves have that in them they’ll be just fine, and will most likely not only have put themselves right back in position to contend for a wild card spot, but probably another division title as well.
