The Atlanta Braves are in the midst of their worst season since 2017, in which they finished 72-90 and third in the National League East standings, 25 games back of the division winning Washington Nationals, and on Tuesday, suffered another set back as Ronald Acuna Jr. was placed on the 10-day injured list after dealing with Achilles tightness.

“Why take a chance with your best player, your most dynamic player, your All-Star, your MVP and continue to run him out there,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost, Mike Bell reacted to the news of Acuna Jr. and shared thoughts on why they believe Braves’ manager, Brian Snitker and his staff could have taken better measures to avoid the IL for Acuna Jr.

“This is on Snit, Mike. This is on the trainers to say, ‘nah, you know what, we don’t need him out there’,” Dukes continued as he expressed his frustration in hearing the news of Acuna Jr. “There’s no reason to have him out there,” Dukes added.

“If there’s an inkling, if there’s a word that Ronald somehow did something rounding the bases on the bases clearing double by Riley the other night and that gets back to Snitker, you have to sit him,” Bell said as he and Dukes agreed in believing the Braves have no reason to continue playing Acuna Jr. “That would be dumb. It would be completely stupid of management,” Dukes said.
