The Atlanta Braves have had their fair share of pitching woes this season, especially with the injury riddled starting rotation. Some think that manager Brian Snitker is to blame, the guys on Dukes & Bell discussed it.
Carl said that he doesn’t blame Snitker for the pitching staff not getting the job done.
“When I am a manager and my general manager gives me players, because that’s not Snit, that’s management. I expect these guys to be ready when you tell me you’re calling up player “X”, and when he gets to me and I go player “X” I’m giving you the ball tonight, I expect him to be ready and for him to be coached up. What we’re getting to is development.” Dukes said.
“So for all of the young guys we’ve talked about, and we’re not making fun of them as individuals what we’re telling you is their performances as a whole has been crap, you can’t trust any of them. So when you guys say it’s his fault, some of you not all, I will defend him and say you know what this is where the development of our young pitching staff it makes me wonder maybe that’s where the issue may be or maybe some of these guys just aren’t built for it, they’re just not ready. So if that’s the case fine but you have to find out at some point, but don’t point the finger at Snit because he hands the ball to a guy who allegedly is suppose to be ready and then he doesn’t perform, that’s not the manager.”
