General manager Alex Anthopoulos has some big decisions to make as well. The face of the franchise, Freddie Freeman, was allowed to go into the last season of his contract. This may have been one of the reasons that Freeman got off to such a slow start. Freeman was great as usual, but there hasn’t been any news about contract talks between both parties.

Gabe Burns, of The AJC, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to talk about the optics for Liberty Media if Freeman walks in free agency.

“That would be a disaster, quite frankly,” Burns said. Anthopoulos is probably kicking himself right now because the price has most definitely gone up for Freeman.

The best thing for the Braves is to give Freeman what he wants because if they allow him to walk, they would not be in the good graces for a lot of people.
