The Atlanta Braves are heading back to Houston for Game 6 of the 2021 World Series having a 3-2 series lead. But not all is well in the Braves dugout.
Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is in the heart of the order, batting third behind Freddie Freeman. And he's in the midst of one of the worst stretches of his career.
Albies, who entered the World Series having gotten a hit in every game this postseason except for Game 1 of the NLDS, hasn't gotten a hit in the last three games against the Astros and isn't making productive outs either.
Albies has just three hits in the first five games against Houston, and all of them have been singles. He has taken three walks, but also struck out five times.
While Albies is struggling you wonder if Brian Snitker might move him down in the order the way Dusty Baker dropped Alex Bregman on Sunday.
Bregman, who is actually having a worse World Series than Albies and is hitting just .111 against the Braves, was dropped in the lineup in Game 5. He had a key RBI double from the 7-hole after batting out of the 3-hole previously during the World Series.
Many have mentioned how loyal Braves manager Brian Snitker tends to be with his players, especially veterans. So it will be interesting to see where he places Albies in the Game 6 lineup. But it may not be the worst idea to drop him a few slots and place a player who is a little bit hotter in behind Freddie and ahead of Austin Riley.
