Audacy.com MLB insider Tony Gwynn Jr. joined Dukes & Bell for his weekly appearance on the show and talked about the Braves being winners of eight straight games and was Brian Snitker’s team meeting the catalyst for the team's sudden hot streak.
Gwynn Jr. talked about the offense being hot during the winning streak.

“Part of it is that they’ve started to swing the bat offensively, Dansby’s swinging the bat well, Ronald, when you have a guy that’s inserted back into your lineup even when he’s missing time the energy is different the energy is different there’s no doubt about it and they’ve continued to pitch,” Gwynn Jr. said. “This is baseball, you’re gonna have these ebbs and flows of good ball and bad ball but when you have track records and it’s not just the track records it’s how young most of these guys are in baseball terms you just know that the track record will eventually come through.
When asked if Snitker’s team meeting was catalyst for turnaround.
“That’s what makes Snitker who he is, that’s what makes Bob Melvin who he is, they have impeccable timing when it comes to when they need to turn it up on the players and when they need just to let things go. The Padres have played the Braves twice already this season and they didn’t look great either time, there was never a point when he seemed like he was panicked, because of that the guys in that locker their not gonna panic either. The mere fact that he felt like it was the time probably meant that he was right, and look at the results, I don’t want to say it’s been all about that but certainly it’s not a coincidence that all of it happen soon after.”
