2nd-year pass-rusher Bralen Trice as important as Jalon Walker, James Pearce Jr.

After drafting both Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. in the first round of April’s draft the Atlanta Falcons’ 2024 third round pick Bralen Trice has been overlooked whenever the Falcons’ pass rushers have been talked about leading up to this season after tearing his ACL in the first preseason game last year and missing the entire 2024-25 season.

However, earlier today on The Morning Shift former Atlanta Falcons quarterback and now analyst for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network Dave Archer joined the show, and explained why Trice could be a versatile weapon on the Falcons’ defensive line this season.

“Bralen Trice is kind of laying in the weeds isn’t he? When you start thinking about he’s an edge defender and so when you begin to breakdown the edge defenders you got Jalon Walker at 245, you got James Pearce at 245, DeAngelo Malone is like 235, Arnold Ebiketie 250, Khalid Kareem is 255, Bralen Trice is 275lbs. He’s legitimately a solid almost a 4-3 Mike defensive end, and he’s the one guy that doesn’t really fit the body type that everybody else is, yet I think he’s stout and he’s versatile to where you can play him on that edge in run down situations not just as a pass rusher.”

The big defensive end out of Washington almost felt like the steal of the draft when the Falcons got him in the third round in 2024, and now that he’s back from his torn ACL he’ll have a chance, starting tonight, to show Falcons fans what kind of player he is, and just how much of a steal he was.
