The Atlanta Falcons are entering a new era in 2026. Led by Kevin Stefanski as head coach, the Falcons will dig into a quarterback battle this offseason in Flowery Branch. Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa, who are also looking for a new beginning this season, will square off in the first competition since 2008.
The Morning Shift discussed the competition, what a fresh start means for the Falcons' head coach, and what they have taken away from some comments from Stefanski with Mike Garafolo.
"For somebody like Tua, or somebody like Kevin Stefanski or even Michael Penix, there's got to be something methodical about this," Mike Johnson said. "And I think everybody in this situation is poised enough to [handle] that. And Kevin Stefanski, in the article he says about the lessons he learned about being fired from the Browns, and he said 'Too many to name.'"
Whether the Falcons are talking about their next quarterback or their new head coach, there will be plenty of people looking to learn from difficult experiences and grow into their NFL careers.
