Falcons to open season with Tua Tagovailoa as QB1
The long-awaited announcement from the Atlanta Falcons regarding who would be their starting quarterback in their season opener when they travel to Pittsburg to face the Steelers, came on Monday when they announced Tua Tagovailoa will be the Week 1 starter.
“Get on board and let’s go win,” 92-9 the Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost, Mike Bell reacted to the news of Tagovailoa getting the nod over Michael Penix Jr., who spoke with the media and shared he spoke with Falcons head coach, Kevin Stefanski and informed him he is not “100 percent” ready.
“I do not know what we’re going to get. I have no idea what this is going to look like. How well he is or not going to play. This is what I do know, I’m on board,” Dukes said as he explained why he believes with the season beginning on Sunday, regardless of whether you wanted Penix Jr. or Tagovailoa to be named the starter, Falcons fans should be in unison in wanting the same result.
“Let’s not hope the Falcons go to Pittsburg and get embarrassed. Let’s not hope the Falcons show up and not do anything offensively. Rooting against our guys is not it. At some point, can we all agree that we will see Michael Penix Jr., but for Week 1, can we all just ride and say hey let’s go and try to win a football game,” Dukes said.Falcons announced Tua Tagovailoa as their Week 1 starter
