Falcons 'can't fold under pressure' 49ers bring
As the Atlanta Falcons get set to host the Dan Francisco 49ers on Sunday, 92-9 The Game’s Mike Bell and Abe Gordon discussed Michael Penix Jr. and why they believe the third-year quarterback has to prove he has the ability to handle pressure applied by opposing defenses.
“That’s where it’s been falling apart for the Falcons and that’s where he needs to be better, Gordon said of his concern with Penix Jr. being able to recognize and escape pressure. “Everybody had a take that if the first read is not there, it’s not good,” Bell added as he explained the critic Penix Jr. has received from national NFL analyst.
“If he doesn’t get the ball out, one, two, three, it’s rarely going to be successful the way the offense is rolling right now,” Bell said as he explained why he believes the Falcons offensive line has been under performing in regards of protection, therefore Penix Jr. will have to improve on his reads. “If you can’t beat the pressure, you’re going down again,” Gordon said.Falcons need improved packages defending pressure
