Owners approved the hybrid kickoff rule Tuesday during the Annual League Meeting, and The Morning Shift talked about how the new kickoff rule could reshape what special teams looks like, including what kind of player teams have returning kickoffs. For the Falcons a very dynamic second-year running back could end up playing a big role in the Falcons return game.
“Saquon Barkley’s, Deebo Samuel’s, Christian McCaffrey’s, hey Bijan Robinson’s of the world could really be guys you see in certain situations where you need a big return to set you up for a drive or you need a big play in a big game,” Beau Morgan said
Last season all Falcons fans witnessed Robinson’s ability to make guys miss, saw what he could do in space, and just witnessed his overall ability to make plays in space. While it's likely Raheem Morris wouldn’t want to have Robinson back there too much, in some situations he could be a very valuable weapon in the return game.
