NFL Network draft analyst Bucky Brooks joined Dukes & Bell and talked about how the Falcons extend the careers of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones?
Brooks talked about how the Falcons can get the most out of an aging Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.
“I think the big thing for the Falcons is as your quarterback gets older you have to be able to support him more, and by supporting him more I mean a consistent and persistent running game.” Brooks said “Because when you run the football it makes your life a lot easier and it’s not a coincidence that when Matt Ryan has played at his best it has been with a dominant running game.”
“Go back and look at the Shanahan years, go back and look at when he first got into the league when they had (Michael) “Burner” Turner, when they’ve been able to run it he’s been able to crush opponents by carving them up off play action. They have to make building the running game a focal point of rebuilding the Falcons.”
