As of now, Atlanta Falcons’ fans will have to wait until the team’s season opener to see Michael Penix Jr. in action, however if there are any concerns in regards to how well the second-year quarterback will perform this season, CBS football analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion, Bryant McFadden shared with 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell why fans may be able to be at ease.
“Of course, when you talk about Atlanta this season, you start and you stop that conversation with who? Michael Penix (Jr.),” McFadden told Dukes and Bell as he shared thoughts on what he saw from Penix Jr. during the Falcons’ training camp earlier this week.
“It actually was a rainy, ugly day and you couldn’t tell with Michael (Penix Jr.) throwing the football,” McFadden continued as he noted how well the former Washington Huskie quarterback was able to complete passes to several of his wide receivers.
“I mean he really was accurate, he was really precise with his decision making,” McFadden said of Penix Jr.’s connection with Kyle Pitts, who he explained how the Falcons utilized more frequently at the wide receiver position due Darnell Mooney being out with an injury.
“Kyle looked real good playing wide receiver and Michael was confident in getting him the football and they made a lot of things happen through the passing game,” McFadden said.
