The Atlanta Falcons finished 7-10 last season and fans are expecting a bounce-back season. Between their eighth-overall pick, running back Bijan Robinson, to Desmond Ridder getting more reps, and to the free agents signed, the Falcons have made drastic improvements on both sides of the football.
The NFC South is up for grabs between the Buccaneers dealing with life post Tom Brady, the Saints starting their new era with Derek Carr, to the Panthers hopeful Bryce Young is the QB many believe he will be, the Falcons are right in the mix to win the division.
Joe Patrick joined John Fricke on Sunday and had this to say this about the Falcons.
“I think the Falcons are going to explode, and I think by the time we get to the playoffs like I was talking about with the Jets... I think it’s going to be kinda the opposite with the Falcons," said Patrick. "I think they are going to be a team that teams don’t want to have to go up against because they are a very unique challenge especially in the NFC.”
The Falcons also have a worst place schedule working in their favor. So although they are not expected to make a lot of noise, the Falcons have more elements working for them than you may realize. Even though the roster has improved since last season, Ridder will be the key ingredient for the Falcons. If Ridder can be a game manager and make the plays needed, 10 or more wins may not be out of reach for this Falcons team.
