Falcons should seek high return if trading Kyle Pitts
The 2026 NFL draft is three days away and as the Atlanta Falcons continue to prepare, there has been speculation as to whether or not they will look to trade tight end, Kyle Pitts. “It seems like we’ve been discussing this since his rookie year,” Atlanta Falcons Radio Network Analyst and former Falcons quarterback, Dave Archer, said as he joined 92-9 The Games Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to preview Thursday’s draft and share thoughts on Pitts’ trade reports.
“He had a really good back half of the season, arguably his best season since his rookie year. Probably not arguably, it was his best season since his rookie year. He played like a man possessed,” Archer said as he shared thoughts on whether or not the Falcons moving on from Pitts, who placed a franchise tag on back in February, would be an ideal situation as he is coming off a season in which he posted 928 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns.
“Do you get that when he comes back and he plays on the tag that you put on him?”, Archer asked as he explained why he believes there is “value” in retaining Pitts. “I would be hesitant to move him if you weren’t going to get something at least in the first two rounds,” Archer said of Pitts and what he believes the Falcons should want in return, should they decide to trade him. “I don’t know that I would move him for a third-round pick. I think he’s a guy that comes in and can be a difference maker in the pass game for you this year,” Archer said.Falcons need to seek 'value' if trading Kyle Pitts
