The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver room had already started to fill up after signing Darnell Mooney in free agency and adding Rondale Moore via a trade sending Desmond Ridder to the Cardinals, and even after re-signing KhaDarel Hodge, the Falcons felt the need to add 1 more receiver, possibly for a very specific purpose.

Ray-Ray McCloud is a receiver that the Falcons added in free agency, he spent the last two seasons with the 49ers, totaling two TD's (both in 2022), one a receiving TD and one a rushing TD. The real specialty of McCloud is as a return man. Ray-Ray McCloud had a punt return long of 35 yards while with the Niners and a kickoff return long of 39 yards while in San Fran.

With the possibility of new rules that would emphasize the kickoff return, the Falcons seem prepared to excel, especially with the exit of former kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson.
