Earlier today The Morning Shift reacted to ESPN putting out a list of the top 10 off-ball linebackers in the NFL as voted on by league scouts, executives and coaches, talked about what they think Atlanta Falcons linebackers Jalon Walker and Divine Deablo have to do to be on the list next year, talked about how the Falcons defense should and will go about filling the role of now New Orleans Saints linebacker Kaden Elliss, and explained why they think Jalon Walker stepping in and easily filling the role of Kaden this season isn’t realistic.
“I have really high expectations for him [Jalon Walker], but to just think he’ll slot into that role and have those same exact numbers that’s a little bit hard for me to think that might happen.” Mike Johnson said
Falcons Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich said himself that replacing Elliss “would take more than one human being”, so while expanding the role of the Falcons second year outside linebacker/edge will be a big part of replacing what Elliss brought to the defense it seems like it will be a group effort to fill the void the losing Kaden caused.
