The Atlanta Falcons now have their edge rusher in Arnold Ebiketie from Penn State. The Falcons were aggressive in an effort to move up to make this selection. It cost the 43rd and 114th for the rights to the Giants' 38th pick in an effort to jump the Seahawks and Bears to get him.
Ebiketie finished the 2021 season with 9.5 sacks and 18 tackles for loss after transferring from Temple. He was a voted first-team All-Conference in the Big 10.
This was a glaring need for the Falcons. It was also one that many thought they would address in the first round. They finished the 2021 season with only 18 sacks, last in the NFL (and third in the individual sack category). Atlanta silenced the critics early in the second round.
The Falcons still have pick 58, 74, and 82 tonight.
