When The Morning Shift asked CBS Sports Senior NFL Columnist Pete Prisco what he thought about the Falcons hiring Jeff Ulbrich to be their defensive coordinator, Prisco said he thinks Ulbrich is a good coach, that the pairing of him and Raheem Morris will work, and that it’s a “good situation” for Ulbrich as well. Then Prisco went on to talk about the reason he thinks the Falcons should be “thrilled” right now.
“The Falcons gotta be thrilled man they got their quarterback," Prisco said. "You know, look everything else that happens from here on out in the next decade you got your quarterback again. I mean you got that guy, and that guy will cure your ills, and you know bad ones usually expose them, but you now have the quarterback and they are going to be relevant for the next decade because they have Michael Penix.”
It’s also easier to solve other problems when you have the main and most important position on a football team figured out, and the Falcons now have that position and other positions figured out. They can hopefully not just be relevant but win with their franchise quarterback for the next decade plus.
