The Falcons and Saints might not have the history of other NFL rivalries due to the year's each franchise started, but Falcons play-by play announcer Wes Durham calls it as close as it gets to a college football rivalry.

"They're located in the part of the country (New Orleans, and Atlanta) where I think we can all agree college football is still king", Wes told Steak and Sandra on this morning's Steakhouse. And most of those college football fans pull for one of those two teams in this rivalry.

Add in the fact that both of these teams play each other twice a year, you have all the makings for something close to a Saturday afternoon football game in Athens or Baton Rouge.

After 107 meetings, the Falcons lead the series 54-53. The Saints won the Week 1 matchup 27-26 on a late field goal from Will Lutz. This game saw the Falcons squander a 26-10 4th quarter lead.

You can hear Wes' comments on the Falcons and Saints rivalry below. The game itself can be heard on 92-9 The Game Sunday at 1 pm.
