The Atlanta Falcons are going to have north of $70 million to spend this offseason to upgrade their roster. The emergence of Tyler Allgeier has alleviated the need to spend a lot of money on the running back position.
Wes Durham joined The Steakhouse this morning and expressed optimism for this Falcons offseason as we finish Year 2 under Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith. This offseason will see the Falcons with a surplus of money to spend, at several key positions of need.
"I don't need to draft a quarterback, because I've got other needs with my draft capital and my salary cap space that are far more imperative to the success of this football team in '23 than whether or not you got a quarterback," Durham said about his offseason expectations.
One position he had questions about coming into this season that he no longer has was at running back. Tyler Allgeier has alleviated some of those concerns.
"I had a big concern coming into the year about who your running back was gonna be and I don't have that concern anymore", Wes told Steak and Sandra. Allgeier sits 100 yards away from a 1,000-yard rushing season as a rookie.
