“We are a better team than the Dallas Cowboys flat out. Look at the body of work,” Steak Shapiro of 92-9 The Game’s The Steakhouse said on Friday as he and cohost Sandra Golden previewed Sunday’s matchup and he shared his thoughts on why he believes the Falcons should defeat the Cowboys.
“They’re 31st in stopping the run, they have their best player out in Micah Parsons, they’re not a good football team,” Shapiro continued as he and Golden reviewed the Cowboys, who enter Sunday’s game at 3-4, coming off back to back losses, first seven games of the season.
However, while Shapiro believes the Falcons to be the better team on Sunday, he notes the circumstances surrounding the game being similar to that of when the Falcons loss to the Seahawks, who ended a three-game losing streak after their win in Atlanta and entered Mercedes-Benz Stadium desperate to pick up a win.
“Who cares if they’re playing desperate? Who cares if Dak Prescott said it’s a must win game? Ok!” Shapiro said as he reiterated his thoughts on Dallas’ mentality should have no impact on the Falcons taking advantage of being a better team. “Go take care of your business,” the midday host added.
And while the Falcons must first take care of business first on Sunday, they are already in position to potentially win the NFC South if they defeat the Saints next week and Shapiro notes why the Falcons have to also have a “must win” mindset against the Cowboys.
“Is it a must win for us if we want to be the two seed in the NFC?” Shapiro asked and explaining how the Falcons would currently be the number three seed in a “wide open” conference should the playoffs begin today, however sit a game back of the Commanders and two back of the Lions and a game ahead of the Cardinals
